Please read this before submitting your article to Axis of Logic!
Axis of Logic only publishes two kinds of submissions:
- An original article that is being submitted as an "exclusive" * to Axis of Logic.
- An article that has already been published by another media outlet and is being submitted to Axis of Logic for republication as a reprint.
We adhere to the following guidelines, which have long been standards for publishers throughout the world. When you submit an
article to Axis of Logic, please indicate:
- If you are submitting your article as an "exclusive" to Axis of Logic
- If your article has been submitted to other media outlets for publication.
- If your article has already published elsewhere (include the URL to the
original source).
As you will frequently find in the print media, we do not accept articles that
are being submitted simultaneously to multiple publishers. Unlike the print
world, we do publish reprints of many articles that have been published in other
media. When we publish reprints of articles, we provide the name of the author
and publisher, along with a link to the original source.
If you submit your article to more than one publisher as original writing, we
will not publish a reprint of the article until you provide the URL of the
original publication. This is necessary in order for us to give proper
attribution to you, the author, and to the original publisher.
*When we receive an article as an Axis of Logic Exclusive, we hold it for 24
hours before releasing it for publication of reprints on other media outlets.
Upon release, we require only that the the following attributions be included
with all reprints:
• Axis of Logic designation
• Axis of Logic copyright
• The URL to the original source.
After your article has been published as an Axis of Logic exclusive, we
encourage you to send the published article to other media outlets for
republication as reprints. We ask you to request the secondary publisher(s) to
include: (1) the Axis of Logic designation; (2) the Axis of Logic copyright (©
Copyright 2007 by AxisofLogic.com) and URL to the original source. All articles
accepted as Axis Exclusives become the property of Axis of Logic. Axis of Logic
never prohibits republication of our articles as long as proper attributions
(above) are applied; nor do we require that written permission be obtained for
republication. Failure to follow these instructions may result in
non-publication of your submission on Axis of Logic.
We do our best to reply to all those who submit original writing to us within 48
hours. Submissions must be sent to only one of the following co-editors:
Les Blough
Paul Harris
About the submission format:
Our articles are posted using 10-point Verdana, no extra spacing between
paragraphs, and hard line-breaks rather than soft (for most people, that means
hitting <enter> at the ends of paragraphs line-breaks rather than <shift-enter>
or telling your word processor to use hard line-breaks automatically). Removing
those soft line-breaks (or the line-breaks that seem to appear at the end of
every line in some text files) is a real chore and may delay publication of your
submissions.
If you submit photos or other graphics, we will try to include them as they
appear in your submission; but we may move them around a bit to fit our page
format or, at our discretion, leave them out altogether. Photos in .jpg format
work best.
